Thank goodness Socks is all right. I know if I can't find one of my cats in the house, my heart sinks. All sorts of terrible possibilities run through my mind and I can't relax until they are found. But all's well that ends well. Maybe some tuna would help Socks calm down : )

He's a being, and family. Unfortunately there is no way to truly explain that to those who don't already understand, and see them merely as things. (I can't prove that they have souls; but i believe that they do; and no one can prove that they don't.)

Glad he's back! (That had to be a few of the worst hours of your life.)

Very scary! They are so good at hiding. :( Once we 'lost' Benny INSIDE the vet examination room - he went inside a cabinet and was hiding behind the trash can. That one was funny of course, but I so understand the panicky feeling. Will you need to get more security now that Socks is such a celebricat? Glad you are all safe and sound.

cat collars with bells attached will avoid this happening in the future. slightest movement of the head can trigger the sound of the bell. u can hear your cats' moveabouts easily around the house. cats are very silent in their movements. i strongly advise u to get the cat collar first, they might need getting used to but eventually they'll forget its even there. its simple precautions like this that saves you a lot of trouble and worry.
