A Cat Calvacade of Coinciding Confluence

Bearing in mind that  a standard cat’s day has maybe 2-3 items on it, with a couple being “sleep”, it has been an amazing flurry of events around the little grey nimrod. Now, far be it from me to complain, since people seem to be sending me gifts as well; but ultimately, we’re just seeing a lot of “stuff” happening.

First of all, something and we’re not sure what happened a couple days ago, because Socks had several hundred new followers add themselves. On a typical day, he might lure one or two people onto his entourage with his big wide eyes and shiny grey coat and wayward whiskers. But it’s pretty unusual to have over 350 people follow him in a 24 hour period (and it is not subsiding in the least).

This pushed us over the mark into the 5000 followers realm, which scant few can really claim at this point in time. To celebrate, we asked followers to send photos. Here’s a few:

So suddenly here we are at 5,000 followers, and what comes after so many followers? That’s right, the press. Socks sat down (or cat loafed) with Skeezix the cat and did a short interview, which some people may or may not find enlightening:

And as a special treat for the socks historians in the crowd, we’ve been sent the original photos of Socks just a little while after he was found on the street outside a mass transit stop (running a three card monte game, but nobody ever talks about that…)
